642 children were rescued last year and 92 so far this year. Most
were rescued from jewelry and garment embroidery sweatshops. The
remainder were rescued from other industries, such as the plastics
Most were from Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar
Pradesh, West Bengal and Nepal.
The current focus is on garment embroidery and jewelry sweatshops
where children work in large numbers.
The Society has continued funding for the 2012–2013 fiscal year.
